The Bookseller.com reports that Mr. Men Christmas Pantomime from the Mr. Men and Little Miss series is among the "top Christmas-themed books for children in 2010."

Christmas Pantomime Top Best Seller in Children's Books

Published in September 2010 A Christmas Pantomime is the top, best selling book of the Mr. Men and Little Miss collection of Roger and Adam Hargreaves' Christmas-themed books. Little Miss Trouble – who loves trouble – also loves pantomimes at Christmas. But she fails to get a part. When the rehearsals run into difficulty, Little Miss Bossy takes charge and enlists Little Miss Trouble. The blurb states, "This is a hilarious take on the Christmas pantomime, Aladdin, with many favourite 'Mr. Men' and 'Little Miss' characters, including Mr. Small as the Genie and Mr. Grumpy as Widow Twankey."

Mr. Men and Little Miss Series of Christmas Books

It was the night before Christmas, as the story goes, and everyone in all the Mr. Men houses were prepared except for Mr. Wrong who thought it was the day before his holiday. And so goes another of popular Mr. Men Christmas books. There are nearly a dozen Christmas-themed children's stories in the Mr. Men and Little Miss Series, and they top the best selling list of books for children.

Over Two Million Sold Every Year

Mr. Tickle, the first Mr. Men book published in 1971 by Roger Hargreaves, came into being when the author's son asked what a tickle was. Mr. Tickle was born when Roger drew a figure with a large orange body and long, rubbery arms. Although considered silly by some, many a small child has been taught to read, or taught themselves to read, by Hargreaves' 50–plus volume set of brightly colored characters, each exhibiting a distinctive trait or characteristic, and revealing a subtle moral lesson. Little Miss Bossy was the first in the Little Miss series in 1981.

One Hundred Million Copies of Mr. Men and Little Miss Sold in 22 Countries

Published by Egmont Books, each book is in small format paperback and 32 pages. Parents, when asked what their top favorite books for children (age 5) were, responded with the Mr. Men and Little Miss series, according to Pearson's Booktime research study of 1,500 parents across the UK.

Best Selling Children's Books for 2010 are Thomas the Tank and Mr. Men's Christmas Books

Thomas & Friends, Mr. Men Christmas Pantomine, and three other of the Mr. Men Christmas series have sold over 50,000 copies since September 2010. All books are published by Egmont. An article in the 28 November, 2010 issue of The Telegraph in the UK has listed the Mr. Men books among the 25 Best Children's books.
